Show titled “Dante lirico game” by Maggio Musicale staged in Pontassieve.

Four actors, a singer, and an orchestral ensemble together with costumes, music, books, toys and medieval trinkets perform Dante Lirico Game in the small wooden theater. The game which is seriously played also involves the spectators. At 9.15pm on Wednesday, September 29, Le muratine in Piazza Vittorio Emanuele in Pontassieve will host this unique show created by the Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino as part of the Maggio Metropolitano 2021 programme.

The show is for the whole family, with staging in co-production with Venti Lucenti and in collaboration with the Accademia del Maggio Musicale, becoming a game and a story in which music and theater come together to directly involve the spectators, leading them in the discovery of Dante Alighieri.

The soundtrack of the show is inspired by the great lyrical and symphonic repertoire, with the notes of great composers revealed through an immense ability to evoke the feelings of this great creation of humanity. The ironic yet melancholic show lasts just over an hour and explores the adventurous life of one of the greatest poets in history with pranks, jesters and patrons, lords and powerful figures, devils and devilry, poets of the Dolce Stil Novo and beautiful Florentine madonnas, Guelphs and Ghibellines.

The performers are Gabriele Zini, Angelo Rea, Giorgia Tomasi, Margherita Galli with the soprano Nadezda Kolesnikova and the Cupiditas Orchestra.

Direction, staging and costumes are by Manu Lalli, concertmaster Pietro Mazzetti, director Guido Roveda, sets by Daniele Leone.

The initiative is part of the Maggio Metropolitano project created by the Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino Foundation and funded by the Città Metropolitana di Firenze.

Free admission subject to availability of seats in compliance with anti Covid 19 regulations and possession of the Green Pass certification is required.
